Mammoth Rider by S.J. Poyton

They’ve only just returned, and now they’re in danger . . . Join an epic race to save the rare white mammoth that might just save the world. For fans of The Last Bear, Fireborn and Greenwild.
After millennia, mammoths have returned, brought back by scientists to help combat climate change.
Ash Grimes, born and raised at the Arctic research centre responsible, dreams of becoming a Mammoth Rider, just like her dad. But mammoths are wild animals and it isn’t easy to earn their trust.
So when Ash meets a white mammoth calf, the first of its kind, she’s determined to do anything to protect her new friend. With a trophy hunter threatening the safety of the herd, Ash, along with best friends Ruby and Jack, must race across the tundra to save their families, the rare calf, and the very future of the mammoths.

ABOUT S.J. POYTON

S.J. Poyton is a neuro diverse writer, who struggles with dyslexia, dyscalculia (like dyslexia but with numbers) and dyspraxia (like dyslexia but with coordination), she also has issues, POTS, Hyper Flexibility, and mobility issues, which means her spelling is wobbly and so is she! Sally was brought up in Oxfordshire in a home with menagerie of animals with everything from pigeons and parrots to iguanas and goats. Sally studied Art at University and after graduation she worked in an array of jobs, from professional artist, peddling vegetables and even selling paint to the (late) Queen! In recent years Sally has worked as a bookseller in, museums and both independent and second-hand bookshops, doing green grass book selling, author events, publicity and even setting up and running a thriving children's department.
Sally has always been passionate about animals and once smuggled a parrot into school for a debate about rainforest deforestation. She has always been fascinated by pre-history and has had the privilege of attending palaeontology digs at the site made famous by the BBC documentary Attenborough and The Mammoth Graveyard. Sally now lives in the rolling Chiltern's with her family and menagerie with everything from geckos to giant snails, and a pair of very naughty terriers- sadly no mammoths -yet!
