The Moon Shines Bright in the Sky At Night
This beautifully illustrated picture book by award-winning artist Emma Carlisle takes young readers on a gentle, lyrical exploration of nature at nighttime, highlighting the comfort and wonder that can be found in the dark. Emma Carlisle is a highly acclaimed illustrator and artist, living in Plymouth, UK. She graduated in 2011 from University of Plymouth with a First Class Hons in Illustration, and in 2014 from the Cambridge School of Art with an MA in Children's Book Illustration. She is also a lecturer in Children's Illustration at the University of Plymouth. Emma's book What Do You See When You Look At A Tree? was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Prize and won the Award of Excellence in Literature for Children from the Council on Botanical and Horticultural Libraries in 2023. In 2015, her first book Lion Practice was nominated for the Kate Greenaway and the Klaus Flugge Prize. In 2013, Emma was also Highly Commended for the Macmillan Book Prize. The Moon Shines Bright in the Sky At Night is Emma's latest book and will be publishing in hardback in October 2026.
