Rita is so very sure she wants a fluffy pet rabbit and NOT a scaly, scratchy bearded dragon called Spike... but when a fussy, grouchy, messy rabbit comes to stay, she discovers they aren't necessarily as adorable as they seem.
Spike saves the day and Rita is very glad to be rid of the rabbit and very in love with her speckled scrawny, spiky pet.
Be careful what you wish for in this hilarious debut picture book from award--winning author and poet, Laura Mucha, and rising star illustrator, Hannah Peck.
Laura is an ex-lawyer turned award-winning poet, writer and children’s advocate. Her writing has been widely published around the world in books, magazines, medical centres, hospitals, hospices, prisons, public transport, TV and radio. Her debut poetry collection, Dear Ugly Sisters was one of the Independent’s top ten poetry books for children. Her debut book for adults, Love Factually/We Need to Talk About Love, was described by Richard Curtis as 'much better and more useful than my film'. Rita’s Rabbit is her debut picture book.
