The Galileo Heist by Sam Sedgman
Isaac’s summer in Italy go horribly wrong when he becomes embroiled in a heist to clear his grandfather’s name. Can Isaac shine a light on the truth in time?
Every summer holiday, Isaac Turner spends three weeks with his grandfather, Ferdinand, at his house in Italy, and this year his best friend Hattie is coming too. Everything points to a fantastic summer, until Ferdinand is arrested for the theft of millions of euros of jewellery. But Ferdinand hasn’t stolen anything – yet.
Drawn into a daring heist during a solar eclipse, Isaac and Hattie must figure out who is telling the truth, and who is using the cover of darkness to deceive them.
Sam’s bio:
Sam Sedgman is a bestselling author, confirmed nerd and enthusiastic ferroequinologist. Before writing stories for children, Sam worked as a digital producer at the National Theatre, which meant nosing around backstage with a camera and a microphone, cajoling theatre makers into explaining how stories get made. Forever interested in piecing things together, Sam is a lifelong fan of puzzles, games and detective fiction, and once founded a company making murder mystery treasure hunts for adventurous Londoners. His books have been translated into more than 20 languages.
When he isn’t writing, Sam is usually poring over a map to plan his next adventure, devising a treasure hunt for his friends or explaining some weird fact to you. He lives in London, on top of a railway station.
